Direct metal deposition

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000107

An additive manufacturing process where metal powder is fed coaxially through a nozzle and melted by a high-power laser or electron beam as it is deposited onto a substrate. Direct Metal Deposition (DMD) builds up material layer by layer, creating dense metallic parts or adding features to existing components. This technique is often used for repair, cladding, and fabricating large metal structures.
