Directed energy deposition

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000108

An additive manufacturing process that uses focused thermal energy, such as a laser or electron beam, to melt materials as they are deposited. Material is fed into the melt pool in wire or powder form, creating a new layer that fuses with the previous one. This method is suitable for repairing existing components or building large, complex metal parts.
