Distortion compensation

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000111

A technique used to counteract or minimize the unwanted deformation of a printed part during or after the additive manufacturing process. This involves pre-distorting the digital model in the opposite direction of the anticipated physical distortion, so the final printed part achieves the desired geometry. Compensation strategies often rely on predictive modeling or empirical data to adjust the part's design before printing.
