Anisotropic
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000017
Describing a material or object whose physical properties, such as strength or thermal conductivity, vary depending on the direction of measurement. In additive manufacturing, printed parts often exhibit anisotropy due to the layer-by-layer build process, where properties along the build direction can differ from those within a layer. This directional dependence is a key consideration in part design and orientation.
