Distortion
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000110
A deviation in the intended shape or dimensions of a 3D printed part, often caused by internal stresses that develop during the printing and cooling processes. These stresses arise from thermal gradients, material shrinkage, or uneven solidification rates. Warping, curling, and cracking are common forms of distortion observed in printed objects.
