Stress relief
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000369
A heat treatment process applied to 3D printed parts to reduce or eliminate internal residual stresses that can accumulate during manufacturing. These stresses can lead to warping, cracking, or reduced mechanical performance. Stress relief typically involves heating the part to a specific temperature below its critical point, holding it, and then slowly cooling it.
