Stringing
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000370
The undesirable formation of fine strands or wisps of plastic material between different sections of a 3D printed object. This occurs when the extruder travels across open spaces without fully retracting the filament, leaving behind thin threads. Adjusting retraction settings, print temperature, and travel speed can mitigate stringing.
