Melted and extruded modeling
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000226
A material extrusion process in which feedstock, such as filament or pellets, is fed into a heated extruder, fully melted, and deposited on the current layer. Because it covers any fully melted feedstock, it is a broader term than fused filament fabrication, and it leaves out processes that only soften the material for extrusion.
