Material extrusion
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000218
An additive manufacturing process where a material is selectively dispensed through a nozzle or orifice. The material, often a thermoplastic filament, is heated and extruded layer by layer onto a build platform, solidifying upon cooling to form the desired object. Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is a common example of this process.
