Filament
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000136
A continuous strand of thermoplastic material, typically wound onto a spool, used as feedstock in fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printers. It is fed into a heated print head, melted, and then extruded layer by layer to build an object. Common filament diameters are 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm, with materials such as PLA, ABS, and PETG being widely used.
