Heat zone

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000167

A specific region within an additive manufacturing system where thermal energy is precisely controlled to achieve desired material properties during the printing process. This area maintains a consistent temperature profile to facilitate melting, solidification, or curing of the build material. In powder bed fusion, the heat zone encompasses the area where the laser or electron beam interacts with the powder.
