Hotend

The assembly in a fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printer responsible for melting the plastic filament and extruding it through a nozzle onto the build plate. It consists of a heating block, a thermistor for temperature monitoring, and a nozzle. The hot end temperature for printing PLA is typically between 180 and 220 degrees Celsius.
