Hot isostatic pressing
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000173
A post-processing technique applied to additively manufactured metal parts to reduce porosity and improve mechanical properties. HIP involves subjecting the part to high temperature and high pressure inert gas simultaneously, which causes internal voids to collapse. This process significantly increases the density, strength, and fatigue life of printed components.
