Porosity

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000303

The presence of voids or empty spaces within a 3D printed part, which can result from incomplete fusion of material, trapped gas, or insufficient material deposition. High porosity can compromise the mechanical properties, density, and surface finish of the printed object. It is often measured as a percentage of the total volume.
