Hardening
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000164
A heat treatment process applied to additively manufactured metal parts to increase their hardness and strength. This typically involves heating the material to a high temperature, followed by rapid cooling (quenching), and sometimes a subsequent tempering step. Hardening transforms the microstructure of the metal, making it more resistant to deformation and wear.
