Heat deflection
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000440
The temperature at which a polymer specimen deforms under a specified load, indicating its resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. This property is measured by applying a three-point bending load to a standard test bar while increasing the temperature. The heat deflection temperature is a key characteristic for selecting materials for high-temperature additive manufacturing applications.
