Fusing
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000148
The process of joining discrete particles or layers of material together through heat to form a solid, cohesive mass in additive manufacturing. This can involve melting and subsequent solidification, as in powder bed fusion, or softening and bonding, as in fused deposition modeling. The degree of fusing directly impacts the mechanical strength and integrity of the printed object.
