Selective heat sintering
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000338
A powder bed fusion additive manufacturing process that uses a thermal printhead to selectively apply heat to fuse thermoplastic powder particles. Unlike laser sintering, which uses a laser, SHS employs a printhead similar to an inkjet printer to deposit heat. This method is typically used with lower-cost thermoplastic powders and can produce functional prototypes or end-use parts.
