Feedstock
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000134
The raw material supplied to an additive manufacturing system for processing into a finished part. The form of the feedstock is specific to the printing technology, including polymer filaments for Fused Deposition Modeling, metal or polymer powders for sintering and melting processes, and liquid photopolymer resins for stereolithography. For powder bed systems, particle size distribution is a key feedstock specification, affecting flowability and packing density.
