Metal injection molding
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000230
A manufacturing process that combines aspects of plastic injection molding and powder metallurgy to produce complex metal parts. Fine metal powders are mixed with a binder to form a feedstock, which is then injected into a mold. After molding, the binder is removed, and the remaining metal part is sintered to achieve high density and strength, typically resulting in parts with densities over 95% of theoretical maximum.
