Conformal cooling

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000081

A design technique for cooling channels within molds or tools that closely follow the contours of the part being manufactured. In additive manufacturing, these complex cooling channels can be directly printed into molds, allowing for more uniform and efficient heat removal compared to traditionally machined straight channels. This leads to reduced cycle times and improved part quality in injection molding.
