Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000759
A congenital physical condition characterized by abnormally long and slender fingers and toes, giving them a spider-like appearance. This trait is a classic feature of certain genetic disorders, most notably Marfan syndrome, which is a connective tissue disorder caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene. The Steinberg sign, where the thumb extends past the palm when the fist is clenched, is a clinical test for this condition.
