Bronchopulmonary segment

A distinct anatomical division of the lung, supplied by its own segmental bronchus and pulmonary artery. Each segment is functionally independent, allowing for localized disease or surgical resection without affecting the entire lung. There are typically ten bronchopulmonary segments in the right lung and eight to ten in the left lung.
