Deterministic effect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003088
A health effect for which a threshold dose or concentration exists, below which the effect does not occur. The severity of the biological response increases as the dose rises above this threshold. Examples include radiation-induced skin burns, cataract formation, and organ failure, where the damage is directly related to the extent of cell killing.
