Deterministic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003086
Describing a system or process where the future state is entirely determined by its current state and known inputs, without any element of randomness. In toxicology, a deterministic effect is one for which the severity increases with dose above a threshold. This contrasts with stochastic effects, which are probabilistic.
