Electronic chemical potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003751
A measure of the escaping tendency of electrons from a system, defined as the negative of the electronegativity. It represents the change in the electronic energy of a system with respect to a change in the number of electrons, at constant external potential. This quantity is often used in conceptual density functional theory.
