Electronegativity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003748
A measure of the tendency of an atom to attract a bonding pair of electrons in a chemical bond. This property influences the polarity of chemical bonds and the distribution of electron density within molecules. Electronegativity values are often expressed on scales such as the Pauling scale or the Mulliken scale.
