Mulliken population analysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007618

A method for partitioning electron density among atoms in a molecule, based on the coefficients of atomic orbitals in molecular orbital theory. It provides a way to estimate atomic charges and bond orders from quantum chemical calculations. This analysis is dependent on the choice of basis set used in the calculation.
