Explosivity limits
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004236
The range of concentrations of a flammable gas or vapor in air, between which an explosion can occur when an ignition source is present. The lower explosivity limit (LEL) is the minimum concentration, and the upper explosivity limit (UEL) is the maximum concentration. Concentrations outside this range are either too lean or too rich to ignite.
