Genital tubercle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004845
An embryonic primordium that gives rise to the external genitalia in vertebrates. In male development, it elongates to form the penis, while in female development, it forms the clitoris. Its differentiation is largely determined by the presence or absence of androgens during specific developmental windows.
