Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005280
An affix in polyhedral nomenclature denoting eight atoms bound into a hexahedron, that is a cube, with one atom at each vertex. Hexahedrane is the polyhedral name for cubane, C8H8, a real hydrocarbon first synthesized in 1964 by Philip Eaton and Thomas Cole, in which each carbon is bonded to three other carbons and one hydrogen.
