Icosahedro-
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005563
A prefix used in chemical nomenclature to denote a molecular structure based on an icosahedron, which is a polyhedron with 20 faces and 12 vertices. This structural motif is particularly common in boron cluster compounds, such as the carboranes. The prefix specifies the polyhedral framework of the molecule.
