Isogyric reaction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013221

Any reaction whose reactants and products contain equal numbers of electron pairs, so the total number of unpaired electrons does not change, as in CH4 plus H giving CH3 plus H2. In computational chemistry such reactions let correlation errors largely cancel between the two sides, which makes calculated reaction energies more reliable.
