Isohemagglutinin

An antibody that causes agglutination of red blood cells from other individuals of the same species. These antibodies are naturally occurring and are responsible for the ABO blood group system incompatibilities. They are typically of the IgM class and are present in the plasma of individuals lacking the corresponding red blood cell antigen.
