Isoionic

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006190

Describing a solution of an ampholytic substance, such as a protein or polyelectrolyte, that contains only the ampholyte and the ions derived from the solvent. In an isoionic solution, no other acids or bases have been added to adjust the pH. The pH of an isoionic solution is known as the isoionic pH.
