Operational pH standard
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008258
A buffer solution with a precisely known pH value, used to calibrate pH meters and electrodes for routine measurements. These standards are typically prepared from mixtures of weak acids and their conjugate bases, or weak bases and their conjugate acids. Their pH values are traceable to primary pH standards and are certified at specific temperatures.
