Reverse passive agglutination

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010317

A serological technique used to detect antigens by observing the agglutination of carrier particles, such as latex beads or red blood cells, that have been coated with specific antibodies. If the target antigen is present in the sample, it will bind to the antibodies on the particles, causing them to clump together. This method is often employed for rapid diagnostic tests.
