Agglutination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000332
The clumping together of particles, such as bacteria, red blood cells, or latex beads, suspended in a liquid. This process is often mediated by antibodies that bind to antigens on the surface of the particles, forming a visible aggregate. It is a common technique used in diagnostic tests for identifying specific antigens or antibodies.
