Sheep red blood cell antigen
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010810
A foreign substance present on the surface of sheep red blood cells that can elicit an immune response when introduced into another species. These antigens are frequently used in immunological assays, such as the rosette-forming cell assay, to detect and quantify T lymphocytes. The immune system recognizes these as non-self molecules.
