Kernel method
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006316
A class of algorithms in machine learning that transforms data into a higher-dimensional feature space, allowing for the detection of non-linear relationships. This transformation is achieved through a kernel function, which calculates the similarity between data points without explicitly computing their coordinates in the new space. Support Vector Machines (SVMs) are a prominent example of algorithms that employ kernel methods.
