Kind-of-quantity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006342
The aspect that mutually comparable quantities have in common, such as length, mass, time, or temperature. It is an abstract category rather than a measured amount: 2 m and 5 m are two quantities of the kind length. Quantities with the same dimension are not always of the same kind, for example moment of force and energy, which both have the dimension mass times length squared per time squared.
