Limb bud

A small outgrowth of tissue that appears on the embryonic body wall, representing the earliest stage of limb development in vertebrates. It consists of an outer layer of ectoderm covering an inner core of mesoderm. This structure undergoes complex differentiation and growth to form the skeletal, muscular, and connective tissues of a mature limb.
