Macro-chain-transfer agent

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006862

A polymeric chain-transfer agent that participates in a chain-transfer reaction, leading to the formation of a new polymer chain with the macro-chain-transfer agent incorporated into its structure. This process allows for control over polymer molecular weight and architecture. Macro-chain-transfer agents are often employed in reversible-addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization to produce block copolymers.
