Measurand

A particular quantity subject to measurement, defined with sufficient completeness for the purpose of a specific measurement. A complete specification includes details of the system, the component being measured, and the kind of quantity. For example, a measurand could be the mass concentration of glucose in the blood plasma of a specific patient at a given time.
