Error

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004088

The difference between a single measured result and the true or accepted value of the quantity being measured (the measurand). Error is an idealized concept because the true value is rarely known. In practice, it is distinguished from uncertainty, which is a parameter that characterizes the dispersion of values that could reasonably be attributed to the measurand.
