True value
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012331
The ideal value that perfectly represents the quantity being measured, free from any measurement error. In practice, a true value cannot be known with absolute certainty, as all measurements are subject to some degree of uncertainty. It is an abstract concept used as a reference for evaluating the accuracy of experimental results and the performance of analytical methods.
