Standard uncertainty

A measure of the uncertainty of a measurement result, expressed as a standard deviation. It quantifies the dispersion of values that could reasonably be attributed to the measurand. This value is typically obtained from a statistical analysis of repeated observations or from an evaluation of all known components of uncertainty.
