Deviation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003109
The difference between an individual measurement or observation and a reference value, such as the mean of a set of measurements or a true value. It quantifies the spread or dispersion of data points around a central tendency. Standard deviation and average deviation are common statistical measures used to characterize this spread.
