Error

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004317

The difference between a measured or calculated value and the true value of a parameter, arising from limitations in measurement tools, interpretation methods, or inherent variability in natural systems. In reservoir characterization, errors can propagate through models, affecting reserve estimates and production forecasts. Quantifying and managing uncertainty associated with errors is a key aspect of reservoir engineering.
