Accuracy

The degree to which a measured value from a logging tool or laboratory test conforms to the true value of the property being measured. It is a measure of the systematic error in a measurement system, distinct from precision, which describes the repeatability of the measurement. Accuracy is verified by calibrating instruments against known physical standards in a controlled environment before and after a logging job.
